VIDF RETURNS WITH A DYNAMIC TWO-WEEK CELEBRATION OF DANCE, MUSIC, AND ARTS
The Vancouver International Dance Festival is celebrating 24 years of contemporary dance from February 25 to March 9, 2024, showcasing a condensed two-week program with performances by outstanding Canadian and international artists, alongside dance workshops, free life-drawing classes, and an Art and Photography Exhibition by Vancouver’s very own Ken Clarke and Vincent Wong. This year brings an exciting addition, the VIDF Jazz Jams, open at 9:30 pm at KW Production Studio after performance days, where VIDF patrons can join in dancing to Vancouver’s best jazz musicians at KW Studios.
The 2024 VIDF will present Montréal’s Compagnie Virginie Brunelle at the Vancouver Playhouse, Montréal’s Catherine Gaudet and Japan’s Conan Amok at the Annex, Hungary’s Ferenc Fehér and Vancouver’s Jennifer McLeish-Lewis at the Roundhouse Exhibition Hall, and Vancouver’s FakeKnot and Montréal’s Tony Chong at the Roundhouse Performance Centre. Additionally, Vancouver’s Modus Operandi will perform at Woodwards Atrium. This year, all participating artists will captivate audiences with four performances each.
In a dedicated effort to promote inclusivity, VIDF is excited to launch a new initiative, offering subsidized tickets at a special rate of $25 for individuals who wish to attend our ticketed shows but may face financial constraints. We’re now selling subsidized tickets at the Vancouver Playhouse, Annex, and Roundhouse door.
