A deep reflection on multiple artistic, socio-cultural and political realities, All in All is a journey that brings together Lebanese, Mexican and Canadian artists in an ambitious and vibrant work.
All in All examines the resonance of bodies through three segments presented simultaneously: The Ogre, the Phoenix and the Faithful Friend, Boreal Castles and Perro de Fuego y Rata de Agua. All in All is conceived in terms of spaces that encourage the mobility of the spectator, thus encouraging a plurality of views. The work is an invitation to new forms of listening and attention.
The performances take place simultaneously in the Woodward’s Atrium, KW Atrium Studio, and KW Production Studio. Audiences are welcome to stay as long as they want in each location. Sometimes the performers will not be present, but the spaces will have sounds and set pieces that will remember what has taken place previously. Periodically, the performers return, or they appear in other places. All in All is a contemplative performance where the energies of the performers revisit the spaces with new explorations, movements, and sounds.
Benoît Lachambre takes an exploratory approach to movement and its sources with the intention of rediscovering the authenticity of gesture. His approach is based on an acute sensory awareness, requiring a strong link between the artistic and the somatic. In his creations, he proposes to deepen the empathetic experience of performer and spectator and the malleability of these roles.
Montréal Danse is a choreographic production and development company that is allied with iconoclastic creators who question methods of expression and rethink the contexts in which dance can be expressed.
