Fusing traditional Métis dance with contemporary arts, Vancouver’s Compaigni V’ni Dansi performs as the Louis Riel Métis Dancers in free public performances at the Roundhouse Turntable Plaza. An excerpt from the award winning, full length work The Crossing, created in collaboration by Yvonne Chartrand, Maria Campbell and Ania Storoszscuk, Daughters of the Country reflects a time of peace, an era a decade prior to the Saskatchewan resistance of Madeleine and Gabriel Dumont, and shares a joy and love of the Métis spirit.
